Exercise, hydration, and a fiber-rich diet all help keep you on a regular schedule. If you have to strain hard to drop the kids off at the pool or you have ongoing belly bloat, possibly due to backed-up bowels, here are two ways to help get things moving.

Give yourself a colon massage. Gently rub from the lower right side of your belly to the upper right side (ascending colon). Then knead it from right to left, about two inches below your belly button, moving across (transverse colon) and down to the lower left of your abdomen (descending colon).

A poop stool, such as the Squatty Potty, that elevates your feet while you do your business may help because it straightens the angle of the rectal canal, which can move things along as well.
